Part of the large order delivered to YILPORTTurkish-headquartered port operator YILPORT Holdings has taken delivery of 19 new pieces of materials handling equipment including forklifts and reach stackers, at its terminals in Ghana, El Salvador and Portugal.
The equipment, which was ordered from Konecranes as a partial fleet upgrade, includes nine forklifts, five empty container handlers and five reach stackers.
Konecranes, while not giving specifics of the equipment, says it meets “a wide range of capacities and handling requirements”.
YILPORT and parent company CoreX Ports & Terminals, operate 22 marine and five inland terminals across 12 countries.
“The addition of these reach stackers, empty container handlers, and forklifts further strengthens our equipment fleet across multiple regions, supporting higher productivity, operational resilience, and service reliability,” says Erhan Çiloglu, deputy CEO & CMO with YILPORT Holding.
“As we continue to expand our global terminal network, investments in modern equipment remain a key driver in delivering efficient and competitive port services to our customers worldwide.”
Meanwhile, Konecranes has expanded its APAC Industrial Service presence with new acquisitions in Thailand and New Zealand.
Konecranes has not disclosed the value of the purchase of Thailand’s Ex-Kcranes and New Zealand’s Trimate Industries Ltd, which it says will broaden its service footprint in the APAC region.
Ex-Kcranes is an industrial service company based in Rayong, on the Gulf of Thailand, servicing Thailand and Laos.
Trimate Industries sells crane components and spare parts and is a distributor for Demag in New Zealand.
“The annual combined sales for these two acquisitions are EUR 2.5 million (USD2.9 million) and the companies will add some 20 employees to Konecranes,” the Finnish materials handling equipment manufacturer states.
