KAUP, a German-based manufacturer of forklift attachments, has released two new rotating fork clamps, known respectively as T451.4 and T491.4, which operate using an oil motor and worm gear, rather than an oil motor and gearbox.

According to the company, this innovation means the units are more compact than alternatives and therefore ensure larger visibility windows and an improved view for operators. In addition, both clamps have the added benefit of less weight (up to a maximum of just 100kg) and greater residual capacity.

Because of their versatility, the clamps are suitable for use across several heavy-duty environments.

For example, they find use in recycling and waste management, for dumping bins and handling crushed materials; in foundries and metal processing, for pouring or handling heavy casts; and in food and chemical processing, for turning over pallets or emptying ingredient containers.

The key difference between the two rotating fork clamps is that the T491.4 is supplied with an integrated sideshift mechanism, while the T451.4 does not include an integrated sideshift mechanism. However, it can be fitted with either a separate or valve block sideshift upon request.

The rotating fork clamps also feature solid, strengthened construction with optimised technical specifications. In terms of rotation, the rotating fork clamps are able to move hydraulically, a full 360° in both directions.

Three hydraulic motor variants are available, including a standard version and versions with higher speed or higher torque. This choice may be tailored upon request to the specific application.
