Jungheinrich's EFG 5 counterbalance forkliftJungheinrich has held its launch event in Hamburg where it unveiled five new products including three electric counterbalance forklifts, a reach truck and a mobile robot.
The launch is a clear step towards the German materials handling equipment manufacturer’s long-term vision of offering a complete portfolio from entry-level products to heavy-duty machines.
Among the launches was the heavy-duty EFG 5 which has a 4T to 5T capacity range and represents Jungheinrich’s next generation of electric counterbalance forklifts.
It is capable of lift heights up to 7.5m and is aimed at customers in the industrial, building materials, beverage, and automotive sectors who have previously often relied on combustion-engine vehicles.
“The new series enables fully electric heavy truck operations across multiple shifts without any loss of performance, thanks to a robust vehicle design, high power reserves, and drive technology tailored for intensive applications,” Jungheinrich states.
It also features high acceleration and travel speeds, as well as fast lift cycles, thanks to two-motor drive and SRM+ lift motor.
“With the new EFG 5, we offer our customers a fully electric solution for applications that have often been dominated by diesel forklifts up to now,” says Markus Kaspers, product manager at Jungheinrich.
“The vehicle combines high handling performance with high reliability and is consistently designed for heavy and intensive applications.”
The EFG2/2i and 3/3i electric counterbalance forklifts were also among the product launches, and features what Jungheinrich says is a best-in-class compactness, with 15% better space efficiency due to the optimised turning radius and compact design.
“The completely redesigned successor models combine maximum compactness with targeted performance and high driver comfort – for efficient and high-performance material flows in the 48-volt segment with a load capacity of up to 2T,” Jungheinrich states.
“They are aimed at users who want to see high productivity, safety and future-proofing combined in a compact vehicle concept.”
Last week Forkliftaction News reported on the launch of Jungheinrich’s heavy-duty FalcOn counterbalance forklift, with a load capacity of 5T and a driving speed of 26km/h, designed for heavy handling processes.
Also launched at the Hamburg event was the ETV 4i reach truck which has a load capacity of 1.4T to 2.5T, offering up to 20% more productivity to comparable machines in its class.
The ETV 4i has lift heights of up to 14m, the ETV 4i covers a wide range of applications for users with high handling requirements such as in distribution centres and multi-shift operations.
Jungheinrich also used its launch event to unveil its Mobile Robot EAC 212a, as the equipment maker “expands its portfolio with an autonomous solution for high-lift applications”.
The high-lift vehicle has a load capacity of 1.2T, is designed for automated storage and retrieval processes up to 1.2m and enables the seamless automation of material flows between goods receipt, warehouse, production and dispatch.
Jungheinrich explains the vehicle handles pallets and stillages at floor storage locations, conveyor systems or buffer lanes and integration with automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) is possible.
Among recent product launches from Jungheinrich has been its AntOn entry-level range of forklifts were launched in Germany in January.
