Jungheinrich acquires stake in EP EquipmentGerman materials handling equipment making giant Jungheinrich has extended its relationship with Chinese industrial truck manufacturer EP Equipment, by acquiring a 4.9% stake in the business.
EP Equipment is the manufacturer of much of Jungheinrich’s entry-level AntOn range of materials handling equipment launched to the market last year.
The two companies produced the AntOn range through a new strategic partnership announced in May 2025.
Jungheinrich says the acquisition of its stake in EP Equipment is a strategic extension of that partnership and will operate under the shared motto of “Shaping the future of material handling together”.
Jungheinrich says both companies plan to “unlock additional potential” through the partnership, in areas of product portfolio and market developments, and each will benefit from the exchange of ideas around technology and innovation.
Jungheinrich adds the minority stake is another step towards its Strategy 2030+, a long-term plan to increase revenue to EUR10 billion (USD11.5 billion) by 2030, while also realising a 10% EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes).
EP Equipment says the starting point of the new partnership will be supporting the portfolio extension of Jungheinrich’s mid-tech AntOn range, focussing on electric counterbalance and warehouse trucks.
Dr Lars Brzoska, CEO of Jungheinrich says: “EP Equipment is one of the most successful and fast-growing companies in the material handling sector”.
“With our investment, we are creating a strong foundation for our long-term partnership," he continues. “Together with EP, we are able to provide a comprehensive full-liner truck portfolio – simply the right truck for every customer.”
John He, CEO of EP Equipment, says the partnership with Jungheinrich is another step in the company’s mission to transform the industry from IC forklifts to electric.
“Together, we will further enhance our economies of scale in production, learn from each other and further strengthen our position as the leading players in lithium-ion powered material handling equipment,” he adds.
