Automated robot death court hearing upcoming
Automated robot death court hearing upcoming

Automation is the in news this week and not for all the right reasons.

In Australia, autonomous mobile robot maker GeekPlus and a major retail chain face charges over a workplace death, after an employee allegedly came into contact with an energised and operating automated robot.

Both GeekPlus and shopping chain Myer have been charged with failing to provide a safe working environment and safe system of work - respectively -  after they allegedly failed to ensure access to the grid where the automated robots were operating, was only possible when the grid was de-energised.

The worker who died was 27-years-old.

As we continue to build an increasingly automated world, the death of this young man is a sober reminder that safety should always remain at front of mind.

These releases in Forkliftaction are a nice experience for SNDC... We got seven inquiries coming from Canada, USA, Mexico, Israel and Australia (five from retailers, two from machines manufacturers) and we are still in contact with them. I can state that's a success story!
