Hyundai to deploy the Atlas humanoid robot
Hyundai to deploy the Atlas humanoid robot

Welcome to the first regular edition of Forkliftaction News for 2026 and Happy New Year!

In this week’s publication, humanoid robots are a key topic with Hyundai announcing it will deploy Boston Dynamics’ Atlas model at its production sites and Agility Robotics signing a deal with Latin American tech company Mercado Libre, to deploy its Digit model.

We also look at a report which forecasts global forklift shipments to hit 3.6 million by 2034 and see if the monthly confidence index for the US equipment finance sector has improved or dipped.

In other stories, Konecranes has released its new emissions reduction targets and Combilift has made a significant donation to UNICEF following the raffle of its golden forklift.

And in case you missed it, you can find our 2025 Year In Review for a roundup of the stories which shaped the news last year.
