Hyster releases integrated power solutionHyster has released a new range of lithium-ion batteries and chargers which have been purpose-built for Hyster forklifts providing a “unified system” which is easy to deploy.
Hyster says the integrated power solutions reduce the risk of software mismatches, faults and charging errors while also enabling integration with Hyster Tracker telemetry to provide near real-time battery data alongside other fleet and equipment information.
Because they have been specifically designed for Hyster forklifts, each element is validated by the factory to work as a fully integrated ecosystem, delivering the power and durability required in demanding operations.
Ken Schreiber, Hyster’s senior product director, electrical energy solutions, says global electric forklift sales data makes it clear more operations are looking to electrify their materials handling equipment.
“But while the motive power they depend on might be changing, their expectations for performance and dependability are non-negotiable,” Schreiber continues.
He adds the new integrated solution helps “ease” the electrification journey of Hyster’s customers.
The new solution includes lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry to offer batteries which have high energy density, superior temperature tolerance, long lifespan and fast charging, while the modular battery design enables service of individual modules, rather than requiring replacement of entire battery pack.
To charge, operators plug the charging cable into the easy-access port with built-in interlock sensors preventing operators from moving the forklift while plugged in. The high-speed chargers can be placed anywhere, including high-traffic areas, to encourage opportunity charging that keeps operations moving.
