EPL working platform: precision assembly directly on the line

Precision and safety where production space is tight

In modern manufacturing, access equipment has to do more than lift – it has to fit into the line. HUBTEX’s electrically powered EPL working platform is designed for exactly that: it can position itself with millimetre accuracy between machines, conveyor systems and racking thanks to its multidirectional steering.

Operators can choose between scissor-lift or mast versions, while an optional telescopic deck extends reach into awkward or hard-to-access areas. The EPL range covers working heights from 4.5 to 17.5 metres and load capacities from 250 to 2,000 kg, making it suitable for anything from light assembly tasks through to heavier installation work.

Built for safety in confined production areas

Where tolerances are tight and people work close to equipment and structures, safety is non-negotiable. The EPL’s multi-stage safety concept combines sensor technology (including ultrasound/LiDAR), 360° all-round visibility, automatic braking functions, height limiting, and load and sway monitoring – helping to protect personnel, components and machinery alike.

Application in manufacturing: window installation in rail-vehicle production

A key advantage of the EPL concept is that it brings people, tools and materials together to the point of use, enabling repeatable process steps at varying heights – from set-up and alignment through to final inspection.

In rail-vehicle production, the platform can support the fitting and precise alignment of windows:

  • Gentle handling of materials: Vacuum lifting equipment with soft pads, edge protection and controlled handling can transport panes to the car body with minimal risk of scratching or stress.
  • Accurate alignment: The multidirectional chassis enables fine manoeuvring in confined spaces; optional tilt/swivel functions and load-dependent damping can further support an exact fit in the opening.
  • Process reliability: Load monitoring and height limiting help maintain controlled insertion and defined contact pressure – useful during bonding and sealing operations.

The result: shorter travel and positioning times, fewer intermediate transfers, a reduced risk of damage, and a more ergonomic working posture directly at the vehicle.

Configurable for the line – and easier to integrate

Because production requirements vary widely, the EPL can be configured on a project basis: a lower platform height for working underneath installed components, a telescopic deck for large-area parts, and enhanced collision protection where the tightest tolerances apply.

Its modular design supports integration into existing processes, reduces the need for fixed installations and can provide additional capacity during peak periods or line changes. With an optional lithium-ion battery and onboard charger, the platform can also operate independently of fixed charging points. Assistance systems support operation across the entire lift range.

See it at LogiMAT in Stuttgart

HUBTEX will present the EPL working platform as a production solution at LogiMAT in Stuttgart: Hall 10, Stand 10C31.
