Hegnetslund Women's Refuge supports those who have experienced domestic violence
Hovmand A/S, a Danish manufacturer of ergonomic lifting devices and material handling solutions, has donated DKK25,000 (USD3,859) to the Hegnetslund Women's Refuge, an organisation focussed on helping women and children who have experienced domestic violence.
The donation follows a previous donation of DKK50,000 (USD7,718), which Hovmand A/S made after selling its 50,000th lifter.
According to a post on LinkedIn, Hovmand A/S is not the only organisation that supports the Hegnetslund Women's Refuge.
Other significant donors include freight-forwarding and logistics company LEMAN, engineering contractor and construction firm Vestergaard Nielsen A/S, and Danish craft chocolate maker Friis Holm Chokolade.
Established as Herfølge Crisis Centre in 1995, the Hegnetslund Women's Refuge is staffed around the clock and has room for nine women and up to 16 children.
According to its website, its goal is to help women process the consequences that violence has had on them and their accompanying children, and to motivate and support them in mastering and taking responsibility for creating an independent life without violence.
