EnerSys launches next-gen Li-ion batteriesUS-headquartered energy storage solutions for industrial applications provider EnerSys has launched its next-gen NexSys iON lithium-ion batteries, which have been designed for 24/7 multi-shift environments.
EnerSys says the next-generation NexSys iON platform enables maximum equipment uptime through extra-fast charging capabilities and opportunity charging of up to 300% nominal energy throughput per day.
This, it says, makes it ideally suited for up to three shifts per day in heavy-duty warehouse and distribution centre applications.
“NexSys iON lithium-ion batteries represent the next evolution of lithium power for material handling,” says Martin Walsh, senior director global battery product management MP at EnerSys.
The system has also been designed for maximum fleet compatibility across a wide range of forklift models.
Tailored energy configurations enable fast, flexible fleet integration, while the modular architecture enhances recyclability by allowing easy dismantling at end of life.
EnerSys says the in-house battery management system and safety features - including being rigorously tested and certified - have been engineered to meet global standards.
