Delta's new facility is located in Glasgow
Delta Electronics, a Taiwanese-listed supplier of power and thermal management technologies, has moved its Scottish operations to a new engineering hub and office facility at One Rutherglen Links, Glasgow.
Approximately 40 employees across engineering, sales and support functions will relocate from the current facility in East Kilbride, which is located in South Lanarkshire, to the new facility later this year.
According to Delta, the move to the modern, collaborative workplace in Glasgow is intended to foster innovation, strengthen engineering capabilities and support future business growth.
Delta has maintained an engineering presence in Scotland for nearly 30 years. In this time, the site has grown to become a key engineering hub within Delta’s Industrial Mobility Business.
Specifically, the work at the East Kilbride facility centres around power conversion technologies for Industrial Electric Vehicles (IEVs) used in material handling, warehouse automation, and logistics applications.
Jason Butcher, country head UK & Ireland at Delta Electronics EMEA, says the relocation reflects Delta's long-term confidence in the UK market, as well as its continued commitment to its employees, customers and partners.
“The new building provides an inspiring environment that encourages collaboration, supports innovation and enables us to continue delivering high-value solutions to our customers,” says Butcher.
“Most importantly, it creates a workplace where our people can thrive while supporting the continued growth of our business across the region.”
The Glasgow area has a longstanding industrial and engineering history and a strong ecosystem of engineering talent, universities and technology expertise.
As Butcher notes, the facility’s location in the Glasgow area also strengthens its ability to attract engineering talent and further develop partnerships with leading universities across the region.
