Clark Material Handling Co has added MidWest Industrial Equipment Inc and Lift Parts Service LLC as authorised distributors in certain markets, effective from 1 August.

MidWest Industrial Equipment of Piqua, Ohio was assigned the Dayton, Ohio market, succeeding Miami Industrial Trucks.

Lift Parts Service of Wichita, Kansas is handling the Wichita market, succeeding Lift Truck Center Inc.

Scott Johnson, vice president of business development for Clark in Lexington, comments about the additions. "MidWest will bring a wealth of experience and local market knowledge to the Dayton territory for Clark" and Lift Parts Service, as a third-generation family company, "is a well-known entity in Wichita".

Military veterans Greg Meyer and Jeff Smith co-own MidWest Industrial Equipment. They established MidWest in 2006, initially representing the Doosan brand and, in 2009, added the Komatsu brand.

Meyer is MidWest president and Smith, as vice president, handles sales.

MidWest has 17 employees, operates through facilities in Piqua and Cincinnati, Ohio and projects 2011 sales of about USD3.5 million, Smith says.

Victor Free founded Lift Parts in 1962, and now the business claims it is "the oldest lift truck company in Kansas specialising in forklift parts, sales, rentals and service of all makes and models". Victor Free's son Richard is Lift Parts president, and Victor's grandson Kyle is chief operating officer.

Lift Parts has 15 employees and projects a 15% increase over 2010 sales levels during 2011, says Kyle Free. "We maintain a small mom-and-pop mentality in our values, and it is easy to talk to the owner."

Lift Parts is an authorised dealer for the TCM and Pettibone brands.

Johnson expressed appreciation to principals of two dealerships leaving the Clark network: Dayton-based Miami Industrial Trucks "for their past service to Clark" and Wichita-based Lift Truck Center "for their years of service to the Clark brand".

Miami Industrial Trucks represents the Caterpillar, Mitsubishi, Jungheinrich and Drexel brands, and Lift Truck Center offers forklift equipment from the Toyota, Crown, Doosan and Sellick brands.

Globally, Clark products are distributed and supported through a network of more than 550 dealer locations.
