Chinese state-owned heavy materials handling equipment manufacturer Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) has loaded 17 rubber-tyre gantry cranes (RTGs) at its Nantong base for transport to Walvis Bay in Namibia.
ZPMC says what made this project “remarkable was the coordinated deployment of three COSCO Shipping specialised carriers vessels - Da Xiang, Da Xin and Da An - working together” to transport a full shipment of large-scale port equipment under a demanding schedule and strict third-party inspection requirements.
The equipment will be used to help increase efficiency and throughput at Walvis Bay, one of Southern Africa's key Atlantic gateways, supporting trade growth across the region.
ZPMC says all 17 RTGs passed inspection and were loaded on the first attempt.
“Projects like this highlight the expertise, flexibility and teamwork required to move critical infrastructure across continents,” ZPMC states.
Pick and Place named Canadian dealer for GMV

GMV names Pick and Place as Canadian distributor
Danish lifting gear and materials handling equipment specialist GMV has named Pick and Place (Pick and Place Lifting Equipment) as its new dealer for Canada.
Pick and Place will initially sell and rent GMV’s ErgoMover electric transport trolleys, Lasius compact pick and carry cranes, and Winlet glazing robots throughout the Canadian market.
Vancouver-based Pick and Place, which specialises in supplying glass lifting equipment, will now offer local access to GMV’s compact and practical lifting and materials handling solutions for glass, windows and other heavy materials on construction sites and in industrial environments.
“Canada is an important market with a strong glazing and construction industry, and we see a clear fit between the needs of local contractors and the solutions we manufacture in Denmark,” says Henrik B Skibsted, export manager at GMV.
Maxlion Americas holds open day

Maxlion Americas has held an open day
Chinese-headquartered equipment manufacturer Maxlion subsidiary, Maxlion Americas, has held an open day to introduce its range of materials handling equipment to the Gulf Coast.
Maxlion Americas launched into the US market in May 2026.
The Louisiana showcase including live equipment demonstrations, hands-on product experience and the chance to network with local industry participants.
On display were eight pieces of materials handling equipment, including Maxlion’s compact tele-truck, lithium-ion electric forklifts, and diesel forklifts.
“Through continuous cooperation with local partners and industry professionals, Maxlion is expanding its global presence and strengthening relationships in key markets,” the business states.
