Finnish road load handling solutions provider Hiab, has secured a EUR37 million (USD43.5 million) order for Moffett truck-mounted forklifts in the US.
Hiab says the order is from a strategic customer in the home improvement segment which is renewing part of its materials handling equipment fleet.
The order was booked in the second quarter of 2026 with deliveries expected to start in Q4.
It is for Moffett M8 NX2 model forklifts with a capacity of 3,500kg and which are capable of traversing challenging terrain, while compact enough to be carried on most trucks or trailers.
The order also includes a Hiab ProCare service contract.
“This significant order further strengthens our relationship with this key strategic partner,” explains Barry McGrane, Hiab’s president of truck-mounted forklifts.

Manitou establishes presence in Indonesia
Manitou Group has officially inaugurated its Indonesian subsidiary, PT Manitou Indonesia Perkasa, to establish its presence in the region.
The French materials handling equipment maker says stretching its geographic footprint to Indonesia “aims to provide a better experience to its customers across Indonesia, located within the group's LAPAM [Latin America, Asia Pacific, Africa, Middle East] region”.
PT Manitou Indonesia Perkasa is based in Jakarta and has a stockyard and workshop in nearby Bekasi.
Bernd Freudenmann, VP APAC at Manitou Group, says: "Our new Indonesian subsidiary reinforces our presence in Southeast Asia within a high-potential market. This new location aligns perfectly with our new LIFT roadmap, with a commitment to being as close as possible to the needs of our dealers and rental customers."

Applications for Dematic's scholarships about to open
Supply chain automation specialists Dematic and FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) are again offering scholarships for STEM and robotics students.
FIRST is a global non-profit dedicated to advancing STEM education, and in the last seven years has received almost USD500,000 in funding from Dematic.
As part of the partnership between the pair, 12 scholarships are being offered – two valued at USD5,000 and 10 valued at USD1,000 - “to support [individuals on] their journey in becoming future leaders and innovators in supply chain and logistics”.
Applications for the scholarships close May 31. To be eligible, students must have participated in a FIRST robotics or tech challenge during high school, have applied to a post-secondary institution (including trade schools), must be pursuing a post-secondary education and must not be a previous winner.
