Production milestone for Irish firm
Dundalk, IrelandCargotec Ireland has seen its 50,000th truck-mounted forklift roll off its Dundalk assembly line.
Invented in 1967, the Hiab Moffett truck-mounted forklift has undergone much development, with the Hiab Moffett M-Range augmented by the development of the E-Range, the world's first lithium-ion battery-powered, truck-mounted forklift that will be launched in early 2013. The trucks are suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Hiab Moffett truck-mounted forklifts are exported to over 35 countries.
BITA 2012 Golf Day
Sutton Coldfield, United KingdomParticipants from Jungheinrich UK clinched first prize for the individual and team events of the British Industrial Truck Association's (BITA) 2012 Golf Day.
A total of 39 players participated in the event held at Moor Hall Golf Club.
Prize sponsors included Informa Exhibitions (organiser of IMHX 2013), Warehouse & Logistics News, Powercell Industrial Battery Engineers, Still Materials Handling and College Hill (BITA's communications consultancy).
The next golf day will be held on 11 September 2013.
FLTA moves to Newbury
Newbury, United Kingdom The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) has moved to new offices in Newbury.
Previously based in Lasham, the relocation to the larger, modern facilities is expected to open up new opportunities for the association.
CEO Peter Harvey MBE says: "We are the UK's number one 'port of call' for forklift dealers and users alike. This move will allow us to meet a constantly growing demand for information, guidance and support across a diverse range of topics, especially safety. We plan to grow our Safe User Group at a rate commensurate with the level of usage across the country."
