Sunward makes electric forklifts
Beijing, ChinaHunan Sunward Intelligent Machinery held a ceremony last month to mark the production of its SWFE series electric forklift.
Sunward vice president Yunlong Zhang says the forklift production is a milestone in the company's industrial vehicle development. Established in Changsha National Economic and Technical Development Zone in Hunan Province in 2008, the company boasts its 70,000 sqm (753,474 sqft.) facility can produce 30,000 forklifts a year.
Sunward's French customers visited the factory after the ceremony and were shown the electric forklift production line.
Clarks work in Black Sea port
Mülheim an der Ruhr, GermanyClark Europe GmbH has sent 23 forklifts with 2.5-7 T load capacities to port operator Noworossijskij Morskoi Torgowy Port (NMTP) as part of its expansion plan.
NMTP's USD700 million investment program, to span five years, includes building new terminals, roads, rail connections, cranes and warehouses to boost cargo transhipment to over 100 million T a year.
The Black Sea port of Novorossiysk currently handles 74 million T of freight a year and is Russia's largest seaport. The value of the forklift order is confidential.
Terex reach stackers handle heat
Zweibrücken, GermanyTerex Cranes has delivered three customised TFC45LX reach stackers to handle hot steel in an Arcelor-Mittal steel mill in Dunkirk, France.
Terex Cranes has been producing its TFC45LX (without stabiliser) and TFC45LSX (with "super-advanced stabiliser") reach stackers, designed for hot steel handling, since 2002.
The value of the contract is confidential.
NMHG receives awards
Greenville, NC, United StatesNacco Materials Handling Group (NMHG) has received the Carolina Star Safety Award at a ceremony hosted by the North Carolina Department of Labor.
The company passed an initial assessment to prove that its facilities are a safe, healthy and productive work environment. It joins the ranks of past award recipients Kimberly-Clarke, Pfizer, Frito-Lay and Georgia Pacific.
NMHG also received the North Carolina Department of Labor Million-Hour Safety Award and Gold Safety Award.
