Australia Post needs forklift operators to cover the busy pre-holiday period
Australia Post is recruiting more than 3,500 seasonal team members, including forklift operators, in the lead up to the busy Christmas period.
Along with StarTrack, which is a core part of its parcel and logistics operations, Australia Post has a range of roles to fill in various locations across metropolitan and regional Australia.
The company says truck driver roles will begin from early September, while parcel processing, freight handling, van driving and forklift operator roles will start from mid-October.
Australia Post executive general manager, people and culture, Sue Davies says that seasonal team members make it possible for businesses to deliver for customers during its busiest time of the year.
“Last year we delivered a record 111 million parcels in the lead up to Christmas and that wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible people working hard across our network,” says Davies.
“As we prepare for another busy peak period, we're looking for people with a valid truck or forklift licence, as well as team members for our parcel processing facilities, where no previous experience is needed.”
Operating with more than 4,000 Post Offices across the country, last financial year Australia Post delivered 2.2 billion items to 12.8 million delivery points.
“Seasonal roles are a great way to earn extra income ahead of Christmas while working alongside a welcoming and supportive team,” says Davies.
“Whether you're behind the wheel, operating a forklift or helping sort parcels, every person plays a part in helping us deliver for customers and communities right across Australia.”
