A 34-year-old man has been killed using a forklift at a construction site in Jamaica, Queens. Edgar Pazmino, of the Bronx, and another worker were using the forklift to transport a bundle of windows for storage at a former parking garage on 89th Avenue. Pazmino was reportedly standing on the back of the forklift as it was being driven by the other worker when his head hit a low-clearance ceiling in the garage. Toll has deployed a fleet of 10 AGVs at its new "next generation" e-commerce fulfilment centre in NSW, Australia. Expanding its operations, Chile-based Gruas Maule recently acquired a new Demag CC 3800-1 lattice boom crawler crane. GCT Canada has ordered 10 Konecranes rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes for its terminals in British Columbia. The cranes comply with the US EPA Tier 4f standard for diesel engines. Four of the RTG cranes will be delivered to GCT Vanterm, in Vancouver, in the first quarter of 2019. French equipment maker Haulotte has recorded a 56% rise in income for 2017. The company has just reported revenues of EUR43.2 million (USD52.5 million) for the 2017 financial year. Net sales rose 11% to EUR510 million (USD632 million). The company notes that the aerial work platform market continued to deliver volume growth in 2017, driven by all markets. TVH recognised by Red Cross Olathe, KS, United States TVH in the Americas has been recognised by the American Red Cross as one of its premier blood partners for 2018. Arcadia police and OSHA investigators are looking into the death of a forklift operator after he was crushed in an accident at the House of Raeford Farms. The victim has been identified as 40-year-old forklift driver Robert Andrews, of Delight, Arkansas. China's Hangcha Group has expanded its automated guided vehicle (AGV) range with the addition of a heavy-load (above 3 T) stacking AGV already deployed in the ceramics industry. Most stacking AGVs in China are limited to 2 T, so this model fills the gap in the heavy-load stacking market.
