The KION Group continues to benefit from a healthy global market for industrial trucks and supply chain solutions, registering a notable increase in orders over the first nine months of 2018. At EUR6.369 billion (USD7.25 billion), the total value of order intake in the first three quarters of the year was up by 11.8% on the same period last year. Crown will open a new Midlands facility following its acquisition of a speculative development on a landmark site in Perry Barr, Birmingham. Crown Lift Trucks has started fit-out at the 46,000 sqft. Defence logistics worker Travis Ocker, who works for DLA out of Letterkenny, Pennsylvania, was named the 2018 DLA Disposition Services MHE Rodeo Champion. Cargotec has ended its third quarter with strong orders, rising 23% to EUR921 million (USD1.041 billion). “Orders received grew in all of our business areas. German wood wholesaler Holz-Tusche has been using Hyster forklifts for more than 30 years, with 17 Hyster trucks forming the backbone of its logistics operation. A garden shed manufacturing company has been fined more than GBP250,000 (USD325,000) for safety breaches after a worker was killed. Andrew Hanshaw, 44, died in 2012 after being struck by a forklift.
