Xtreme Manufacturing and Snorkel have secured an asset-based loan for up to USD65 million to support the future growth of the businesses. The latest survey from the Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation shows a fall in confidence. The May 2018 Monthly Confidence Index found confidence in the equipment finance market eased further in May to 64.6, down from the April index of 68.3. Asked to assess their business conditions over the next four months, 22.2% of executives responding said they believe business conditions will improve over the next four months, a decrease from 33.3% in April. A man died after being trapped under a forklift on Monday morning, according to the Seattle Fire Department. The Seattle Times quotes fire department spokesman Hilton Almond saying the victim was dead by the time medics arrived at the scene after a 911 call. Officials say that the man was a construction delivery driver who was unloading pallets of pavers on a steep incline. It took more than an hour to free the body from under the forklift. Liebherr has marked the opening of a new facility in Rognac with the delivery of the first of two new reachstackers to Lyon Terminal. The river port of Lyon is one of the highest-turnover ports in the region and the Lyon Terminal achieved a total turnover of 137,000 TEUs in 2017. Production has just begun on Turkey’s first locally designed and produced forklift, the Anadolulift. Cold insulation specialist Lèbre SAS recently took delivery of 14 Genie GS-1932 scissor lifts to assist in the installation of new state-of-the-art premises in Nantes. The project will be completed by the end of the northern autumn, 2018. Briggs Equipment has executed a purchase agreement to acquire Hitec Lift Trucks Ltd, with completion expected by 1 June 2018. The independent dealer based in Wellingborough will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Briggs and will continue to trade under its own name, with all current operational contracts remaining in place.
