Fairchild Equipment, Inc. is seeking a self-starting, stable, hard-working, dependable and motivated Service Manager for our Fairchild Minnesota Market. The Service Manager is responsible for all activities related to service which contribute to customer satisfaction, job profitability, and technician productivity. This position requires you to work with our Technicians, Sales Representatives and customers on a day-to-day basis to achieve profitability, growth and account penetration within our company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervises all day-to-day maintenance operations and supports Fairchild Minnesota Market Service Department out of our Burnsville Branch.

Oversees all scheduled maintenance, while working with the Service Office Administrator and Dispatcher.

Assists in troubleshooting problems with equipment.

Plans and delegates responsibilities as appropriate and monitors performance.

Involved in reviewing personnel actions and recommending appropriate corrective actions to management.

Sets department goals and objectives that are aligned with division’s strategic plan.

Works closely with the GM/VP of Fairchild Minnesota, Ham Lake Branch Manager and Corporate Service Manager providing status of maintenance and budget requirements.

Ensures compliance of OSHA requirements and proper training at all times; working with Field Safety Supervisors.

Ensures all company safety policies and standards are followed and conducts safety weekly inspections.

Performs monthly inspections of Company equipment such as, ladders, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, eye wash station and spill kits.

Must have working knowledge of the principles, techniques and practices of servicing and repairing equipment.

Required to perform hands-on work activities such as repairs and maintenance of equipment, when necessary.

Identifies and recommends to the Corporate Service Manager actions to improve operating efficiency.

May arrange services for building and grounds keeping or complete other projects as assigned, while keeping the GM/VP of Minnesota informed at all times.

Maintains an open line of communication with customers.

Promotes a positive work environment.

Accepts new duties and responsibilities as assigned by division GM/VP of Minnesota informed and Corporate Service Manager.

Ability to organize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
Requirements / Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.

5-10+ years of technical training preferred.

Knowledge of forklift/heavy equipment industry is preferred.

10+ years of supervisory role.

Must have a valid driver’s license with impeccability record.

Ability to drive 50% of the time.

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance.

Intermediate computer skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Adapt and work in a fast pace environment.
