This position is to gain business by calling on non-existing accounts to promote Taylor Machine Works products, with specific emphasis on allied products including, but not limited to, Taylor Terberg Spotter Trucks, 4,000 to 18,000 lb. forklifts, Rail King Rail Car movers, and various types of Construction Equipment. The incumbent's primary objective will be to identify the key people within a prospective account, gather their contact information, and assist the territory manager with new leads.
Nature and Scope:
This position reports to the General Sales Manager and has full accountability in his/her respective territory for meeting a number of cold calls and other goals assigned by the General Sales Manager. He/she is limited in accountability only by company policies and guidelines i n the performance of these duties.
The incumbent promotes TMW product lines, arranging own itinerary and appointment schedule, with input and guidance from Regional Sales Manager. Incumbent will work closely with Regional Sales Manager.
The incumbent identifies managers/executives within an organization, analyzes their needs, and speaks to the customer of the superiority of TMW equipment. The BDM keeps the necessary records and submits a weekly report of the information he/she has obtained through our CRM system. The BDM must be able to enter new accounts and use what he/she has learned to speak to the customers. The purpose of this role is to gather information from companies and identify potential customers to the Territory Manager. It will be the responsibility of the BDM to follow up with contacts received, until being in a position to get Regional Sales Manager involved.
While the incumbent will be primarily expected to conduct in-person cold calls, the incumbent is also expected to utilize phone calls, email, LinkedIn, and other avenues of research and communication to build relationships with prospects.
BDM must learn the TMW product line, to be able to identify what customers are currently using and where the Territory Managers can assist the new customer with using TMW product lines.
The BDM will achieve the assigned Lead Generation quota on a weekly and monthly basis.
Understanding BDM is an introductory role that requires constant interaction with people in person, over the phone, and email. The role is to teach sales techniques, finance/leasing information, and eventually lead to a higher role within the company.
Conducts effective sales effort, operating under existing company policies.

Keeps record of activity via Salesforce. Submits reports via Salesforce as requested.
Gathers prospective account information such as competitive equipment in use, lease or purchase, current maintenance provider, and disperses Taylor literature through face-to-face interaction.
Keeps informed on TMW and competitive equipment.
Maintains excellent personal and corporate image.
Evaluates effectiveness of sales effort. Strives to upgrade abilities.
Requirements / Skills
Educational and Skill Requirements:
Experience with CRM, specifically Salesforce, preferred.
High School Diploma or GED- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Excellent communication skills and presentable appearance a must.
Must be able to travel his territory on an almost daily basis.
Computer literacy and attention to detail required.
Pay will be commensurate with experience, with an attractive base salary + commission structure.
