Hi.
What would cause mast chains to twist at the bottom link on the carriage framework? Occurred both sides with the front of the chain twisting outwards.
Forks are rated to 16 tonne and used to carry up to 13 tonne racks of timber. A rack of timber is 6 metres wide x 1.7m high x 1.6m deep and 13 tonnes. Its a working timber yard so the forks do take a beating but twisting the chains is a new one for us.
Probably looks worse IRL than photo - twist is 15deg maybe 20 max and enough to open up the link.
Thanks.
