Discussion:
Training camera system to help with you operate safely

I would like to start a discussion on wireless forklift camera systems and ask some feedback from any trainee operators that would like to test and review the LLE-047W-7C Wireless Forklift Camera System.

We have just launched the only wireless forklift observation camera system in the world which uses independent power supplies for the cameras and monitor which makes them pretty much portable. This reduces outlay if you are running more than one different type of lift truck

The cameras can be mounted anywhere on the boom or truck to aid operators with the tricky task of accurate fork placement and or reversing. This reduces accidents while increasing productivity and safety in the workplace.

You have the choice of mounting 1 or 2 CCD night vision cameras with battery pack and a robust 7" TFT monitor to your forklift which will enable you view accurate loading and prevent bumping pallets causing dangerous uneven stacks, dropped loads, damaging goods, bending racking or simply picking the wrong pallet.

As the system is portable it can be easily removed to any other vehicle. The battery will power the system for up to 8 hours before needing to be recharged(included). However we can provide a second battery so you are never without the system.

The LLE-047W-7C Wireless Forklift Camera System has been especially designed for use on all types of forklifts, reach trucks, and other types of industrial trucks used for lifting.

This system reduces potential accidents by giving the operator the ability to view the exact position of the forks or a clear image behind when reversing- Even when the boom is fully extended.

Operators work every day in situations where their vision is limited- whether at the fork tips, behind the forklift truck or with poor lighting conditions.

In addition operator fatigue, repetitive strain and stress injuries to operator back and neck while working overhead are reduced substantially.

If you have any comments or would like to test one of our new systems please feel free to contact us - sales at wirelessparkingsensors dot co dot uk

Hey Finn,

Yeah, the guys operating the forklift do work in tight spaces.

I made "discussion" for things to consider when buying a rearviewcamera, since it was a real pain to find a system thats lasts!

Here is a link to the discussion :

thanks for the offer Freddy,
with 3 cameras you might be working in some tight spaces indeed,
the new hyster reachstacker works well enough and without any cameras but if need be we can just communicate with the other operators present as we are not allowed to work alone.
but as for a reversing camera,
yes it could be kept dry under the boom and activated by engaging the reverse gears.
regards finn.

Hey Finn,
If you want I can mail you some pictures of how we installed 3 cameras on our Konecranes SMV25-1200B for an allround view. Cause like you said, visibility is very poor indeed.
Kind regards,
Freddy

Hello everybody!
With all due respect, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but nowadays A LOT of warehouses have some sort of wireless logistic communication. This interferes like **** with the "wireless" camera systems, and really **** of the guys operating the forklift, but also the guys in the office since there was a constant signal loss when a forklift passed by, or was near a transmitting unit. Apparently this was due to the 2.4GHz frequency, both systems are using (camera and logistic). It seems that the "old fashion" solution (with cable) remains the best. Since there is no need for extra batteries and such. Also there is absolutely no interference, and the image is 100% at all times.

Also, when installing a camera system on your forklift, bear in mind that when operating in cold storage warehouses, and outside, the need for a weatherproof monitor is not a luxury. Something we had to find out the hard way.
Kind regards!

If a driver uses mirrors or a reversing (back-up) camera while backing, the driver is looking in the direction of travel and meets the intent of the OSHA rule 1910.178(n)(6). OSHA does not require that the driver physically turn his or her head to look in reverse.

Most operators of container handlers have very limited visibility when backing because of the restricted line of sight caused by vehicle design. Reversing cameras would definitely be a safety improvement on this type of equipment.

Seems SafetyKing has lost interest in responding to the interest expressed here. Wonder why?

Not sure what I am missing here but;
OSHA 1910.178(n)(6) states:
The driver (lifttruck) shall be required to look in the direction of, and keep a clear view of the path of travel.

Now how does a backup camera allow this to happen if a lift truck operator is looking at a camera while backing up, seems like if you are spending money on a camera, why not save money and use mirrors, this works under the same principle, and causes too many blind spots.............sounds like a violation of this OSHA requirement. Just my thoughts.

I would like more info!!! We have some forklifts fitted with back up cameras, and love them. And Linde does offer a forward looking camera option. Would like to know more about your product, do you have brochures or a web site?

Hi Dan,

I guess you are in Canada??? If so then we wouldnt be able to supply a kit for testing. However i can forward a discount code that gets you £100 off the RRP which is normally £329.99. So for £229.99 plus shipping you would get the full system.

And yes due to the screen being powered from cigarette lighter adapter and the camera powered from the battery- you could install it in under an hour easily.

Be safe
