Crown SC5200:
Tilt issues

Got an sc5200 with AC lift motor. Truck will not tilt back after tilt limit switch is engaged and is above staging. Checked switches in analyzer and with meter switches check out. Also verified because they work normally until tilt limit is reached. Any one have any clues?

Thanks,

Bad TBS switch, there are two switches on the tilt lever, the upper one is TBS. TBS overrides tilt interlock.

I believe that is what not working correctly. When the tilt lock out comes on, it stops all tilt function until the forks are lowered under height switch. I know that when u raise past first stage, the forks only go forward bout 2 degrees, but you're still able to tilt back, with this truck, you can't once the tilt limit is reached. That's what I'm trying to figure out is why it shuts down all tilt when tilt limit is engaged. It's weird that even tilt back doesn't work. I have even check the schematics and thought it might be the tilt interlock, but AC trucks don't have that. So that's a no go.

this sounds like tilt lockout above freelift safety function
you should not disable this, it's there for a reason.
tilt lockout above freelift is an option that was probably installed on the truck when it was ordered.
the only way you should deal with this is to call crown and have them tell you wether you can remove this, i'm sure they will strongly advise you not to.

Negative, no tilt function at all untill lowered to below height switch then tilt function resumes working untill you hit the tilt limit switch above staging then it all shuts down again. The weird thing is that it only happens above staging with tilt limit open. Below staging tilt works fine even with tilt limit switch open.
