Has any body had head gasket problems?
Burning anti Freeze
I have worked on lots of these engines but never had head gasket problem.
I am thinking more cracked intake manifold ,rumour is they crack/or gasket.

IT smokes a litte bit as in starting up in cold weather.
But exhaust smells of anti freeze.
we are going to take off manifold and inspect
machine shop says they can crack

What do you mean? Is it smoking extremely bad- I had a Komatsu that the propane regulator cracked & was letting coolant into the fuel system. The smoking this created was unbelievable- never saw anything like it. I don't remember what regulator was on it- I know it wasn't an Impco

but this is burning more then compression in coolant.

Had one in a Hyster that turned out to be a bad intake manifold gasket. Check for air in the cooling system- air would indicate a faulty head gasket.
