Anyone use this product? Cascade calls it the iFork.  Its basically pair of forks with RF load cells and a digital readout. Just wondering on any feedback.

I did check into for a customer, but felt price was a little high
for a set of forks with RF cells

Cascade manufactures mobile weighing equipment known as iForks. These are state of the art devices with a very high degree of accuracy. Cascade will be happy to discuss your application or demonstrate a set if you contact your local dealer or Cascade representative.

Mettler Toledo, Inc. the largest manufacturer of weighing equipment on earth manufactures and distributes the VFS220-T24 legal for trade hang on scale which operates with a wireless link to a mobile PC in the fork truck cabin.  There is approximately 12-15% lost load associated with this device.  For certain Mitsubishi and Caterpillar trucks/masts a scale is available that replaces the lift carriage virtually eliminating this hinderance.  These scales are legal for trade as well.  Information can be found on the Mettler Toledo website.

Years ago I sold one of these and it had strain gauges in it. Like the tech in the weighing bridges for truck stops. Everything great until customer dropped pallet on it and broke it, then mucho warranty finger pointing. Personally I thought that this would happen with most customers at some time.
Anyway maybe the tech is different today

The integrated products have been marketed by MCFA and for a number of years without issues like you describe.  This kind of use/abuse is anticipated in the typical environment.  Load cell failures have been very minimal and the patented scale design protects against impact loadings.  Furthermore the stainless steel hermietically sealed load cells employed are are simple and far less expensive than LCs used in most other products of this nature (as the scale output is digital).  The hang on scale is built using similar technologies as the integrated scale and the robustness is comparable.

Joe - our parts manager quoted this product once before. Very expensive as compared to other options for forklift scales. We have used a product by AccuLoad a few times. Their price is good and the unit ties into the forklift's hydraulic system.

The Cascade iForks are quite different than a system which uses a transducer to sense variations in hydraulic pressue in order to calculate weight. (Cascade has that option available as well).
The iForks are a true mobile weighing system with 0.1% accuracy.
The determining factor is what do you or your customer really need from your weighing device? Invest in the solution that solves you material handling needs.

With iForks you can do even more then just weighing.
Have a look on YouTube  key in the search field:  ravas mobile weighing db schenker
Here you see how you can also integrate a Volume measurement system plus a handscanner ALL into one WMS of DB Schenker
