Discussion:  Toyota 7FBMF16 do drive and no errors

We have a truck which had a fault on the SAS card, which has now been replaced.  However after replacing all errors have gone and truck hydraulics work fine but truck does not drive.  It does not throw up any errors either just sometimes you get the sense the motor might try go but nothing.

Went into the analyzer menu and checked the seat switche, direction switches and foot pedal switch and pot all working fine.

Does anybody have any ideas what might be the problem?  When we turn the handbrake off the  park brake light goes off the screen but cannot turn the wheels with one wheel jacked off the ground.  We think it could be a mechanical issue but would like your thoughts if anyone has experienced this.

Hope to hear from someone soon

Regards

Montaz

Hi john
The steering motor runs but cannot feel the steer turn feels heavy.  Could the yaw rate sensor be causing no drive as its connected to the sas card and the wires on ot had melted the sleeving.

Power steering motor on this also releases the parking brake cylinder.

You said the PAS motor is turning, is the small hydraulic pump attached to the bottom of the PAS motor working correctly?

I don't think it is as the motor activated but the steering doesn't seem to turn feels stiff as if itsnot working,  but the motor does activate.  I'm get engineer to check as i didn't realise it connects to parking brake.

Thank you

Hi everyone just an update.

Eventually got to the bottom of this problem.

The steer motor polarity had been connected the wrong way after the loom had burnt out.  The colour codes were the same but did not match the positive and negative on the steer motor.  After this was rectified the steer works fine and truck now drives.

Look like this can effect the traction too.

Thanks for all the advice and information.
