Understood. Thank you again for your time and attention, my friend. It wasn't necessary to replace the FPS module in the end. A simple cleaning of the traction and elevator controller connectors corrected the errors that were appearing on the display (FE 0100 and FE 2040).

Thanks for the information. Your truck is a 2008 FM-X 17 with the older FZS/FPS generation.

From the technical information I have checked, the FPS has its own software (your unit is SR 3.73 / UE 3.20), so the complete program is not simply transferred automatically from the FZS.

However, on this older generation, if the replacement FPS is the correct compatible unit and already has the appropriate software version, a full STEDS programming procedure should normally not be required just for replacing the FPS.

STILL does specify flashing and teach-in procedures when software versions or control-unit generations are changed, so I would make sure the replacement FPS has the correct reference/software before installing it.

It depends on the year of the FM-X 17 and the module versions. On some generations, after replacing the FPS module, programming/configuration with a PC and STILL diagnostic software is required.
