no not cylinder replacement
just remove the cylinder cap and take the piston out
the valve should be in the base of the piston
if it isnt then its probably in the bottom of the cylinder in pieces unfortunatly.
this is a common problem i have seen caused by a faulty snapring that holds the safety valve in place that breaks and allows that valve to come out causing the sequencing issue.

if you have any doubts about the removal and repair please call a local cat dealer to make the repair if safety is any concern.
