Hoping for some help on this 50/84 I picked up. Originally, it had 1 bad 6v battery, out of 4. I was able to use my 24v jump pack to fire up the unit, and everything worked well. It drove correctly and went up/down. I decided to try to recondition the bad battery.
Fast forward and I am now getting an error code 19. A Google shows this to be a startup sequence or safety circuit error. Using the jump pack now no longer works.
"Crown wav service code 19 Service code 19 on a Crown Wave (WAV) work assist vehicle indicates a Static Return to Off (SRO) fault, meaning the machine detects an incorrect startup sequence or controls being engaged before the operator is properly positioned.
What Causes Code 19Hands on controls during startup: Resting your hands on the control handle or twist grips when turning the key ON.Not standing on the footpedals: Trying to operate or turn on the machine without your feet correctly on the platform footswitches.Gate position: Having the safety gates open when the machine is configured to require them closed for operation.Base/Platform switch error: The base/platform switch located on the service pod is accidentally set to the "Base" position."
In order to troubleshoot so far ive shorted/bypassed both foot sensors?, the service panel emergency shutoff, and the platform emergency shutoff (neither of those worked, they wouldnt stay engaged anyway, just popped right back up when pressed).
The unit randomly will power up and pass the safety checks, but very rarely. What other sensors should I bypass? I do plan to undo the bypasses once I find the culprit.
How can the handle optical sensors be bypassed? All the others so far have just been 1 wire in and 1 wire out. Easy to just tie the 2 wires together. But ive never tried to bypass optical sensors.
Also, there is some weird wiring in the service panel from the previous owner, as you can see in the picture. 2 wires going to the bottom 2 switches are unplugged, the fuse is bypassed, and the hour meter doesn't power on. I did the safety stop bypass.
However, even with all that weird wiring, it previously worked with the 24v source from my jump pack! Im at my wit's end and will scrap this thing before I spend $1,000 on a curtis controller. Got it for use just around my 1,000 sq ft garage. ?
