Discussion:
Crown Monobeam forks not going up or down. Stuck in Up position.

Ya, I have a Crown Monobeam forklift that the forks got stuck in the up position and won't go down. What should I be checking?

You can check the tilt down/up switches for input in the analyzer. If you see them working, then check the output wiring/components.
Most probable cause is the tilt down switch is failing.
If you confirm the inconsistent switch input, The most economical repair is to replace the thumbwheel harness. It comes with the orange thumbwheel, tilt switches, and wiring to the connector. It's an easy repair.
Get it thru the local dealer. Avoid any aftermarket

A few things to check 1- look at wiring to handle and switch 2- check wiring to solenoids 3- check solenoids. im assuming you have no tilt
Since you said lifts and lowers

As I play around with the control handle. I can hear it click when moving the Orange button down. Nothing happens. But I can seem to wiggle it while pushed down just a bit or push harder and get it working. So now I think that is the problem. Not 100% sure.

I think we had a tech fix something on that handle before. I can't recall off hand. It's before out custom software to track repairs on everything including the Forklifts and Pallet jacks. I'm pretty sure something was fixed in this handle by a tech. It wasn't a Crown tech. Crown won't help us. It was a whole huge deal with them. Breakdowns left and right with all of their hardware. Giving us a Forklift that wasn't even freezer hardened like we were told, and switches were getting replaced left and right and failing until replaced by a freezer version, Motor replaced, and so on until it was finally replaced with the forklift we paid for. We can get a Hyster or Toyota tech to work on it. They are not cheap. I may take it apart tomorrow to see if I can find the issue with it.

Anyone have a part number for this?

Playing around with it again, I got it to go down a few times and then it stopped again. I can hear the Hydraulic pump run when I try going up. Side to side works. Mast going up and down is fine. Going out and in is fine. Everything works just fine except for the forks going down. Even though it worked for a minute just down and then stopped after sitting for hours. I tried turning the forklift off for a minute and trying again and nope, not going down.
