Discussion:
Backfired now will not start

Hello.
I have a unit that backfired and now will not start.
The unit will crank but no start.
I have changed the LP regulator and spark plugs.
Have checked for spark and all good.
Removed the mixer diaphragm and inspected for rips. None.
Going to removed the timing cover and inspected the belt and marks to make sure nothing has jumped time. The unit has around 3900hrs.
Any suggestions would be great.

Showing items 1 - 3 of 3 results.
Also check the wiring from key switch to
Ecm as well if it is back firing it could be a loose or bad connection that when it loses connection it's like turning the key off and back on (back in the day we did that in the shop to scare people ) causes a loud backfire
Also rpm sensor and wiring as well as lock off pretty much anything that can cause temporary loss of fuel or ignition

Checked the diaphragm. All looks good.
I found the throttle body was damaged bye the backfire. It cause the butterfly to force close and ripped the teeth of the plastic gears.
So I replaced the throttle body with a new one.
The unit ran for about 30min great and did it again.
Backfired and back to the same issue. Broken gears. Such crap.
The unit has no know fault in the display.
I'm going to replace the throttle body again and connect to the unit with spectrum and see if there any problems in the ecm during the idle up cycle.
Thanks for any help.

Fact of the week
The term "Spring", referring to the season, originated in the 14th century as "Springing time", describing how plants "spring" or burst into life after winter. In the 16th century "Springing time" was shortened to just "spring" for the season of new growth.
