OPERATOR UNHURT AS CRANE TOPPLES

Singapore, Singapore
Thursday, 25 Oct 2001
SINGAPORE -- A crane operator was unhurt after his crane fell over at a construction site next to Singapore's World Trade Centre on October 9.

A site supervisor told the Straits Times that the operator was warming up the crane, which was not fully extended, when it began to fall. The site was mostly deserted when the accident occurred.

No one was hurt, although the crane blocked part of a road next to the site. The company responsible for the crane, Samsung Construction, blamed the accident on human error.
