SAFETY FIRST: IT'S NOT JUST A FORKLIFT

Forklift operator training is not only a legislative requirement almost everywhere in the world, but should be seen as a business tool designed to reduce risk and increase efficiency and, ultimately, profits.
While most companies are forthcoming in providing training to operators, many fleet managers see training as just another cost, or simply a compliance requirement, and often hire trainers based on price not results.
It is odd that intelligent, so-called responsible managers could be completely unaware of the business benefits of educating operators. The excuses it's "just a forklift" and "my guys are good" won't stand up in court if you're being sued.
The forklift is a very efficient killing machine: big, fast and top heavy. In the hands of a poorly trained or untrained operator, you'll be in court quicker than you can say "oops".
