FORKLIFTACTION.COM LAUNCHES MATERIALS HANDLING INDEX

BRISBANE, Australia
Thursday, 27 Mar 2003
Forkliftaction.com has entered the pre-launch phase of its next project, the Materials Handling Index (MHI), a searchable directory of the world’s materials handling suppliers, manufacturers, dealers and related service companies.

The MHI (www.forkliftaction.com/directory) contains contact details for more than 8,000 companies around the world, and is the product of years of research, says research manager Rodger Lamb.

"Most of the information was gathered by trawling through materials handling websites over the past three years, or drawing on Forkliftaction.com’s membership base," he said.

"However, before the MHI is released to the broader business community, we are hoping all readers of Forkliftaction.com News will check details of their own companies in the directory (www.forkliftaction.com/directory/are_you_listed.asp) and alert us if their details are incorrect or missing."

The MHI would be useful for fleet managers and forklift buyers looking for support or sales information in their region or globally, and it was important correct, current information was available.

"A lot of companies centrally manage purchases for outlying branches, so the MHI will be a great tool for locating materials handling companies in other world regions too," Mr Lamb said.

"The ‘Are You Listed’ search is a simple way to check if a company is included in the MHI. Users need only enter their details and search to determine if we’ve missed them out, or if our information is out-dated. If so, I urge them to contact me on research@forkliftaction.com to update or add their information."

Forkliftaction.com marketing consultant Penryn Maddrell said all companies were listed in the MHI free, but companies could make their advertising stand out by buying a Featured Listing in the directory.

"Some searches will return hundreds of companies from the MHI, but companies can ensure their contact details appear at the top of the list through a Featured Listing," she said.

Forkliftaction.com is the world’s busiest materials handling website. With more than 10,000 visitors each month, the company has seen exponential growth since its launch in July 2000.
