Shanghai Environmental Containerized Transfer Co., Ltd is a subsidiary company of Shanghai Environment Industry Co., Ltd, which is mainly responsible for freshwater containerized transfer system and waste disposal in downtown Shanghai. This project is part of the Shanghai municipal government eleventh fifth year plan and has been listed in the third round three-year environment friendly action plan of Shanghai municipal government at an estimated cost of nearly 1 billion RMB.
Konecranes machines are assisting to build and operate the system which is designed to transfer 7,000 ton of city waste each day. After pressing and baling the waste, advanced airproofed containers are used for transfer from the Yunzaobang Terminal and Xupu Terminal, going through the freshwater sea-route network on the Yunzaobang, Huangpu River, Dazhi River and Qingyun River etc, to the Laogang garbage waste landfill.
