Forklift supplier Allied Forklifts of Western Australia has purchased the business of FTA Forklift Hire following the decision of owner Les Brown to retire.
Allied Forklifts managing director Wayne Adams, who worked as a manager for FTA from 1993 to1996 before leaving to start Allied, says FTA has operated successfully for over 20 years and has a large base of forklift hire clients.
He tells
Forkliftaction.com News that the acquisition will enhance the company’s growth as forklift hire is an integral part of its operations.
The sale includes the acquisition of all hire equipment, new and used sales equipment, assignment of the WA Taylor-Dunn agency, phone number, web domain, client records, hire contracts and key staff.
Allied, which represents NTP Forklifts in Western Australia, services a broad spectrum of industries including manufacturing, transport, warehousing and mining. Its largest client is Australia Post.
"We are one of the largest WA privately owned forklift businesses in the state. Most of our competitors are owned by international or interstate companies with senior management located in the East.
"By the time they make a decision, we have already assisted the new client," says Adams.
He says the company has a large investment in a fleet of casual hire forklifts ranging from 1 ton to 48 ton. "Other WA forklift companies only focus on hiring the ‘bread and butter’ forklifts up to 3 ton capacity," he adds.
The company is the Western Australia distributor for Taylor-Dunn industrial vehicles, TCM forklifts and skid steer loaders, Jungheinrich electric forklifts, Pramac Stackers and JCB Teletruk forklifts.
