The world's first electric hybrid counterbalance forklift was released in Australia this week at the official launch of Komatsu Forklift Australia.
The hybrid technology, which Komatsu claims is a world first, provides Australian businesses with the opportunity to reduce their carbon emissions with a more energy efficient electric forklift that runs for longer periods.
According to national marketing co-ordinator Leonie Perry, the new dual-power capacitor and maintenance-free battery result in 11 hours of operation with a one-hour recharge interval.
General manager of Komatsu Forklift Australia, David Cullen says the Australian market can expect expanded product ranges, investment in technology and industry-leading fleet management systems from Komatsu Forklift Australia over the next 12 months.
The launch was held at Sydney's Luna Park and attended by dignitaries such as Nobuhito Hobo and Yasuhiro Nakayama of the Consulate General of Japan, as well as Susumu Isoda, CEO of Komatsu Utility, Japan.
