Watts Tyre Group win Toyota Supplier of Year Award

Thursday, 11 Jun 2009
Watts Tyre Group, the UK based tyre and wheel producer has been awarded "Supplier of the Year" by Toyota Industrial Equipment SA (TIESA) at this year’s supplier conference held in Ancenis, France. This is the highest accolade that Toyota gives to suppliers and is awarded on the basis of performance against TIESA’s key quality and delivery indicators.

This year also saw Watts awarded "Certified Supplier Status" for the third consecutive year, reflecting the exceptional quality performance that has been achieved over that time.

Watts have been a significant supplier to TIESA since the factory opened in 1996, supplying tyres and wheels both individually and as complete tyre and wheel assemblies for Toyota lift trucks.

Sales & Marketing Director Carlo Piccirilli accepted the award on behalf of Watts and commented "this is an outstanding achievement for us and to be given this prestigious award and reflects the hard work, dedication and determination of everyone involved in our work with Toyota. We are very proud of our long term association with TIESA and believe firmly that the "partnership approach" that Toyota has adopted has allowed us to deliver an exceptional performance year after year. We look forward to more successful years together."

Watts CEO Jean-Paul Mindermann added "I am absolutely delighted that we have been given this award by the world’s number one forklift manufacturer, it is something that the whole company can rightfully feel very proud of. For us partnerships are key, whether it is with our OEM customers or with our global distribution base, and we have worked hard to foster that approach and ingrain it within our culture."
