JAKARTA INVESTS IN PORT EFFICIENCY
JAKARTA, Indonesia Thursday, 31 Oct 2002
Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT), the largest container terminal in Indonesia, has taken delivery of nine rubber tyred gantry cranes (RTGCs) from Zhenhua Port Machinery Company Limited (ZPMC).
JICT president WS Wirjawan said the one-over-five high machines would start operating immediately, and were expected to improve container yard productivity. The new machines have boosted JICT’s RTGC fleet to 45.
JICT is strategically located in the industrial heartland of West Java. It is Indonesia's national hub port, servicing major deep-sea and short-sea shipping lanes.
