TRELLEBORG WHEEL SYSTEMS AMERICAS, INC. ANNOUNCES ISO 14001 CERTIFICATION
HARTVILLE, United States Thursday, 15 Aug 2002
Trelleborg Wheel Systems Americas, Inc. (T.W.S.A.), Hartville, Ohio has earned ISO 14001 certification (02.123.2). The environmental auditing firm, Smither’s Quality Assessments, Inc. of Akron, Ohio, recommended T.W.S.A. be awarded Certificate of Registration.
In our approach to environmental issues, T.W.S.A. subscribes to national, federal and international principles that strive toward a sustainable society. Our objective is that the activities of T.W.S.A. not have a negative impact on the environment or on human health. This environmental awareness is integrated into our day-to-day operations.
ISO 14001, an international standard established to recognize companies that document and manage their operations to minimize negative impact on the environment, forms the blueprint for T.W.S.A.’s Environmental Management System (EMS) initiatives. In order to achieve ISO 14001 certification, T.W.S.A. developed and implemented a formal, documented EMS program that systematically addresses federal, state and local environment regulatory compliance. This includes initiatives for waste reduction, pollution prevention, business cost reduction and meeting customer requirements.
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) was founded to develop a common set of manufacturing, trade and communication standards. ISO’s proven contribution to companies seeking to achieve excellence in all aspects of operations made T.W.S.A.’s selection a natural one.
With respect to the work environment, our Environmental Policy is founded on the principle of respecting our employees and their rights. Our aim is to coordinate with reputable suppliers who comply with our quality requirements and business principles. In addition to ISO 14001 Certification, T.W.S.A. is ISO 9001 certified (99.270.1).
