JLG wins another US Army contract

McCONNELLSBURG, PA, United States
Thursday, 26 Apr 2007
JLG’s Atlas telehandler
JLG Industries Inc has received a USD39.5 million order for Atlas telehandlers from the US Army.

An option is included in the contract for the army to buy up to 60 more telehandlers, with an estimated USD8.6 million value.

David Peacock, JLG vice president of government products and programs, said the Atlas was designed specifically for the US Army and Army Reserve’s demanding applications.

"The US military has been using the Atlas and its predecessor, the 6000M, since 1990. They trust the Atlas and its proven versatility, reliability and serviceability," Peacock said.

The Atlas can transport materials through water, sand, mud and other rugged terrain that US troops may encounter. It is equipped with four-wheel drive and features high ground clearance and frame levelling.

The telehandlers will be delivered for deployment to the US Army Reserve, US National Guard and foreign military sales customers.
