Landoll Introduces Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Bendi Model

Thursday, 17 Nov 2005
The Landoll Corporation Bendi 180 degree articulating electric forklift now officially has entered the Very Narrow Aisle marketplace. This market is defined as customers having storage aisles 6' (1.8M) wide and under with loads 48" (1200mm) long x 40" (1000mm) wide. Up until recently the Bendi was limited to aisles of 78" (1.98M). By redesigning the front axle to make it narrower and thinner and by designing a mast that has a narrower profile this 6" (150mm) aisle reduction was achieved. Called the "N" Series it has all the same rugged design features of the standard Bendi Series IV including dual independently driven rear wheel drive systems. Lift heights from 198" (5.03M) to 272" (6.91M) and capacities of 2,500 lbs. (1136kg) and 3,500 lbs. (1591kg) are available. Working in this narrower aisle opens many doors to the Bendi that were previously closed. This includes working in most standard Turret Truck aisles either as a direct replacement or as a supplemental vehicle. The Bendi's ability to perform all the normal duties of a front loading counterbalanced forklift and now operate in Very Narrow Aisles without a guidance system makes it the most versatile VNA machine on the market today.

Other features of the Series IV common to the "N" Series include:
• Enlarged battery compartment on the larger model for 10% larger battery
• Transistorized controls on the hydraulic system
• Brush wear indicators on the dash display
• Higher torque steering system reducing steer effort
• EE "Spark Enclosed" rating and Freezer protection available

Landoll Corp. also manufactures Drexel Very Narrow Aisle SwingMast forklifts, which stack in aisles as narrow as 56" (1.42M), in 3,000 lbs. (1363kg) to 12,000 lbs. (5455kg) capacities with lift heights to 30' (9.14M). A 4,000 lbs. (1818kg) and 6,000 lbs. (2727kg) pneumatic tired Swingmast is also available with LP Gas or Diesel power. Besides operating in narrow aisles these trucks also work in trailer loading and unloading operations, bulk storage and push back racking. Additionally the Drexel SwingMast trucks can be used as side loaders for handling long loads. This not only increases storage density but also significantly increases productivity. An EX "Explosion Proof" rating is also available on a front loader Drexel with capacities from 4,000 lbs. (1818kg) and 6,000 lbs. (2727kg).
