JLG has appointed Philip H Rehbein to assume responsibility for its new Commercial Solutions Group (CSG). Rehbein is a senior vice president with the company. Before joining JLG, he held various finance and operational positions with the Black & Decker Corporation. He is a certified public accountant.

John Louderback has been named JLG vice president of Six Sigma, Quality Processes and Training. Before joining JLG, Louderback was vice president and chief financial officer of a construction equipment rental company and was controller for an equipment manufacturer. He earned an MBA from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Issac Shongwe, founder of Letsema Consulting, a strategic management consulting firm, will join the newly established Barloworld Logistics Africa as executive director (Forkliftaction.com News #219). In 1996, Shongwe was named Global Leader of Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum. In 2002, the Aspen Institute, in Colorado, US, made him a Henry Crown Fellow and, in 2003, he was co-founder of the Africa Leadership Initiative (ALI), a program similar to the Henry Crown Fellowship designed to develop the next generation of African leaders. Shongwe holds degrees from Wesleyan University, in the US, and the University of Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg. In 1991, he obtained a M Phil in management studies from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes scholar.

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) has elected Michael J Porcaro to serve on the AEM board of directors. Porcaro is president and managing partner of James Informational Media in Des Plaines, Illinois.

C Mike Simpkins has been appointed AEM’s vice chairman for construction. Simpkins is president of Bomag Americas in Kewanee, Illinois.
