Forklift driver wins at Royal Welsh Show
SWANSEA, United Kingdom Thursday, 28 Jul 2005
A forklift driver who has been fly-fishing the rivers of South West Wales for more than 50 years has landed "the big one" at this year’s Royal Welsh Show.
According to the South Wales Evening Post, John Graham, 61, won the Welsh fly caster champion title, together with fellow fisherman Arwel Evans, after casting over a distance with different styles of rod at the agricultural show.
"The biggest fish I ever caught was a 25lb salmon on the Towy (river in Carmarthenshire)," he said.
"I enjoy everything about fishing but most of all it's the solitude and being surrounded by nature."
