FORT WORTH CITY, USA -- The American Rental Association (ARA) has launched a Rental Hall of Fame, inducting five industry figureheads at a function last week. The inductees were:
* Daniel Cameron, a founding member of the Rental Association of Canada and founder of Atlantic Rentals in 1960,
* the late George Gartner Jr, former owner of FW Gartner in Houston, a former ARA president and founding member of the Rental Equipment Industry Foundation,
* Leonard Hawk, former owner of A-1 Rental Centres, who founded and was the first president of the National Rental Operators' Mutual Association, which is now the ARA,
* the late CA "Ziggy" Siegfried Jr, the ARA's first executive director, who developed the ARA's annual trade show, which began in Omaha in 1957, and
* Klaus Wacker, who was the first president of Wacker Corporation of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, and a pioneer of industry training and special financing and cooperative sales programs to rental companies.
