Largest Rotating Roll Clamp ever manufactured by KAUP delivered to Egypt

Thursday, 21 Apr 2005
The extraordinary dimensions of the large Rotating Roll Clamp are illustrated by one worker standing between the arms.
For handling rolls of tissue paper with a diameter of up to 3,0 m and a
weight of 6 tons

Manufacturing large attachments with capacities of over 10 tons is nothing new for KAUP, the Aschaffenburg, Germany based manufacturer of forklift truck attachments. In past year’s Rams, Fork Positioners, Rotators, Coil Clamps, Ladle Tipplers, Tyre Handlers and, most notably, Multi Pallet Handlers have been manufactured in large numbers for forklifts with capacities from 10 tons upwards. However, one outstanding highlight is a Rotating Paper Roll Clamp, delivered at the end of 2004, due to its extraordinary dimensions. This Rotating Roll Clamp, to be operated on a 25 ton forklift at an Egyptian Paper Mill, can pick up rolls of tissue paper with a diameter of 3 meters and a weight of up to 6 tons. When the swinging type arms of the attachment are opened completely the distance between its contact pads measures more than 4 metres. The double swivel construction of the contact pads ensures that the total of 8 segments optimally fit any roll diameter between 1.000 mm and 3.000 mm. In order to optimise friction, contact pads are lined with Secutex.
