As convenient as booking a taxi, requesting the Conweigh container weighing service through the Conweigh Mobile App makes compliance a breeze.

The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) have reviewed the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Convention and will require mandatory weight verification for all freight containers from 1 July 2016.

Conweigh is a new on-demand container weight verification service available to shippers to achieve compliance with the SOLAS convention via Method 1.

In accordance with the SOLAS convention, Method 1, which involves weighing the loaded container, has been recognized as the most time efficient and straightforward approach offered by the IMO to achieve compliance with the new weight verification requirements.

Shippers can now implement the SOLAS Method 1 weight verification at their container packing site without having to invest in expensive on-site weighing equipment.

With the Conweigh solution, shippers can have their containers weighed when and where they need it, effectively eliminating time, capital and space losses only to accommodate alternative weighing procedures and equipment.

In as little as 20 minutes, Conweigh can weigh a single container and issue its Verified Gross Mass (VGM) Certificate, which is required to be submitted to the ocean carrier in advance.

Achieve peace of mind in the guarantee that when the ship leaves, your freight container leaves with it.

Safely resolve weight issues while containers are still at the point of packing. Avoid lengthy delays at public weighing infrastructure and remove all risks in transporting potentially overweight containers.

Conweigh commenced recruitment of Single and Multi-License Accredited Conweigh Technicians in March 2016 and will begin to accept customer bookings from 1 June 2016, helping shippers prepare for the SOLAS Weight Verification 1 July 2016 implementation date.
