Valmar Handling, Located in the United Kingdom Sales and After-sales including service and parts support are located at the companies headquarters in East Kilbride, Nr Glasgow in Scotland, the production facility for new product build and design is located further south Nr Leeds at their facility in Cleckheaton.

Valmar was established in 1992 and has continued to grow and establish its trusted position within the UK and expanded its operation into manufacturing in 2009 when it acquired the former SSP company which designed and manufactured a limited range of Sideloader products. Since this time Valmar has made significant investment in the design of new products and also the facility to manufacture them in, and has launched to market a significant range of products designated 'Hippo', 'Rhino' and 'Mammoth'. This range of product spans the capacity range from 3t to 5t in compact mode in the Hippo range, through 5t to 8t in the medium heavy Rhino range and from 10t to 20t in the heavy Mammoth range.

Whilst a part of the production planning is laid out to 'standard' product build, the aim of Valmar is to supply and support customer specific solutions, to this end recent adaptations to the standard range have seen products delivered into concrete handling applications which required additional deck width and also increased 'well-width' for location products onto the forks between the decks for handling and travel, also various steel applications involving the loading and movement of ingot steel billets as well the movement of long load extruded steel channel, and most recently delivering several machines which are deployed by special low loaders to site, to facilitate 'on-highway' disgorge and location of Motorway traffic barriers, working through the night in order to limit disruption to high-volume traffic routes.

Valmar whilst in the design of its standard specification of products have paid particular attention to the needs and wants of the operator, in particular around the safety and comfort of the driver, for example, where specified, automatic well lights which 'switch on' as soon as the mast is traversed out, which illuminate the working area at below deck height, facilitating increased visual aid when locating loads with the fork tips, thus avoiding damage to goods and truck; Other common features include step lighting, to facilitate the access and egress into the truck in low-light situations. The cabin itself is of a high specification steel and glass construction with built-in sound deadening materials which assist to limit the transmitting of external noise to the operator; the layout of the instrumentation is centralised onto the steering column thereby providing the driver with a single point of reference for all truck operation and warning gauges and lights, the cabin construction and single-point location of instruments are just two areas where thought action in the design process go a significant way to easing the demands made upon a driver, thereby reducing stress and increasing attentiveness and awareness in operation.

The service and parts department pride themselves on their ability to support not only the current range of Valmar product, but also those products which the customer may also have at his disposal, ensuring that the smooth running of the customer operation is unaffected by taking on-board general and routine maintenance, including when contracted to do so, the daily inspection/maintenance of fleets, in this manner, looking out for the tell-tail signs of problems or faults which would remain unseen to non-service personnel who do not have the same professional detailed eye on the product that the fully trained Valmar engineer has, thus preventing failure, increasing product up-time and lowering the cost of operation.

A further part of the Sales and after-sales operation is the refurbishment and in some cases complete re-build of products to facilitate a 'second-life' product, thereby enabling those Sideloaders to go into a further operation and satisfy the requirements of those customers who require quality products but with a limited budget.

All-in-all Valmar are able to provide a level of support and supply that is seen in the market as superior in its attention to the requirements and needs of the customer, and also in the high standard specification level of new products and its ability to meet the needs of its customers.
